The Alabama Composite is the official newsletter of the Alabama Academy of General Dentistry. Each year, there are typically three full-color print issues and one final digital issue in the winter that covers the last quarter of the year.–

Editor-In-Chief – Dr. Shivani Pandit
Editor-in-Chief Dr. Shivani Pandit
Dr. Shivani Pandit is our new editor for the Alabama AGD newsletter effective July 2025. She has been serving the Oneonta community since graduating from the University of N.C. at Chapel Hill in 1992. She began her dental career in Birmingham, AL and acquired an Oneonta dental office in 1998. Shivani enjoys organized dentistry and is a proud member of the ADA, AGD, & ALDA.
She has been actively pursuing MAGD program and has played a key role along with Dr. Wendy Holder, in revitalizing the Alabama Mastertrack program. Besides dentistry, Shivani enjoys pencil art and photography. She also volunteers at Lovelady Center and Share & Care Foundation in the U.S. and also in India.
Editor Emeritus – Dr. Bill Chesser
Under the direction of Editor Emeritus Bill Chesser, the publication has earned the Academy Constituent Editor’s (ACE) award at the national AGD meeting on numerous occasions. In 2025, Dr. Shivani Pandit was elected as Editor-in-Chief and will no doubt continue the success that the newsletter has enjoyed in the past.
